Debit card features
With our debit card, writing checks is a thing of the past. The debit comes directly from your account, and if you have a return, your account is usually credited within 48 hours. There is no card fee and no annual fee!
Your debit card can also be used to make cash withdrawals from ATMs. Members Choice does not charge ATM fees for withdrawing money at foreign ATMs (non-Members Choice ATMs). However, withdrawals made from foreign ATMs may be subject to fees charged by those ATMs. View our ATM Locations to find other ATMs that are surcharge free as well.
Daily Limits:
- ATM limit: $505.00
- Debit (pin-based and some bill payments) transaction limit: $505.00
- Credit (signature/online) transaction limit: $1,000.00
- 20 transactions
If you need to make a larger purchase, these limits may be raised. In order to increase a limit, please call the credit union at (304) 346-5242 or Toll Free (800) 526-5242 in advance with your card number and purchase amount needed for that day. Your identity will be verified. After business hours, you will be routed to a debit card call center designated to assist you.
EMV chip
Your debit card now includes the latest chip technology which provides an added layer of security and greater protection against fraud for purchases made at the point-of-sale (POS). Information programmed into the chip is personalized for your account and each transaction is unique, adding a new safeguard against fraud. Your card continues to have the traditional magnetic stripe on the back, allowing you to use it at merchants without chip-enabled terminals.
If you have not yet received a debit card containing the EMV chip, please call the credit union at (304) 346-5242 or Toll Free (800) 526-5242.
Lost or stolen debit cards
Call the credit union at (304) 346-5242 or Toll Free (800) 526-5242 and press option 5 for debit cards followed by option 1 for debit cards.
During business hours you will be routed to MCWV staff members for assistance. After business hours, you will be routed to a debit card call center designated to assist you.
Traveling with your debit card
Due to certain restrictions in place to protect your account, out of state transactions may be flagged as suspicious and prevent you from making purchases. All debit card transactions taking place through international providers are automatically blocked for security. This protection also includes out of state gas station purchases. If one of our debit cards is used at an out of state gas station without a PIN, it will be blocked.
Prior to your trip, call the credit union at (304) 346-5242 or Toll Free (800) 526-5242, or submit a message through NTouch24, including the dates you will be traveling and any countries you will be traveling to so your debit card can be authorized for out of town use.
You must also first contact the credit union before using your debit card at a car rental agency. Certain restrictions are in place that will not allow you to use your debit card at such locations.
Call the credit union at (304) 346-5242 or Toll Free (800) 526-5242 prior to using your debit card at a car rental agency with the amount of the car rental in order for these restrictions to be released for you.
After business hours, you will be routed to a debit card call center designated to assist you.
After-hours debit card call center
Our after-hours debit card call center is able to assist with travel settings, temporary limit increases of up to $3,000.00, lost/stolen cards and PIN try resets. The debit card call center may ask for some or all of the following information:
- Full name as it appears on the card
- Expiration date on the card
- Date, dollar amount, and merchant name of a posted transaction made within the last 30 days
- Last 4 digits of the Checking Account connected to the card

- Last 4 digits of the member’s SSN
- If applicable, dates and states or countries you may be traveling to
Expiring debit cards
You will automatically be mailed a new debit card before your current debit card’s expiration. Your expiring debit card will remain active and good to use until the end of the month that it is expiring. Do not discard your expiring debit card until you receive your new debit card. Upon receiving your new debit card, then shred your old/expired debit card.
